We were trying to think of something which could increase the value of our home should we ever decide to re-sell it, and which would also make it feel more luxurious while we're still living in it. The tiles on our kitchen floor were a bit ghetto, so we hired Tanglewood to get rid of them and put down real oak flooring. It looks and feels amazing, and it makes the house as a whole seem so much sturdier and more "real" if that makes sense. Cheap materials tend to take their toll on a whole building. When you make simple little changes like this, things are so much nicer all around.

We contracted with this company to remove the vinyl tiles in our kitchen and put down hardwood flooring. It was one of the best decisions I think we've made concerning remodeling our home. It's totally transformed our kitchen into something that feels very elegant ... not just, you know, another kitchen. We have been considering re-doing our carpets upstairs. Previous owners thought it'd be fun to put a different colour in each room for some reason. We're going to replace them all with a nice neutral off-white tone.
