 Nassau County SPCA Reviews
5 out of 5 stars . Jim K from Woodmere, NY on Sep 24, 2012
Nassau County SPCA is an animal shelter and pet rescue. It is situated in Nassau and it is of great value to the area. The animals are treated with love and respect in that place and that is of great importance. I have once found a wounded dog wandering around the neighborhood and I took it there, since I could not find a vet that was available. They treated it right away and they took it in the shelter. I was kept informed about its whereabouts and its condition, which improved greatly. I make a donation whenever I can and I appreciate the good that comes from those people and their unconditional love towards animals and the environment. They deserve our respect and our help, as much as we can give them.

My family has made a point of rescuing an animal from a shelter whenever we have decided to get a new pet. This time was no different. We wanted a companion animal for our dog Gerhold, so we went to the Nassau County Spca to see what dogs they had available. We spent several hours playing with and visiting with various dogs, and we finally decided to bring Bubba home with us. He was a beautiful black lab that an owner had surrendered, saying he was too wild for them. He was due to be killed in just two days, and we couldn't let that happen.

The reason we have always gotten our dogs from a shelter is because we feel they are the best dogs you could ever ask for. Some have been surrendered by their owners, others have been seized because they were mistreated, and still others are strays.

They deserve a chance at a loving home.

Breeders often mistreat their dogs, they are kept in kennels, and never get to know what it's like to actually live with a family, and get love. They are over breed and sometimes look half dead cause they have puppies ever couple of months.

Well anyway, if you want to add an addition to your family, please I beg of you to check out the Nassau County Spca.
