I had one hell of an ordeal this past year ... which I don't want to get into, but suffice to say I am in remission, praise God. I did lose my hair though, and it really made a difference for me to wear a wig. I felt more dignified that way, and it made people less likely to ask me questions about the cancer, which obviously I didn't want to talk about.

I purchased my wig here at Catherine Roberts Wig Salon. The ladies who worked here were able to find me something very similar to my natural hair in terms of texture and color, and the wig was real human hair. It held up very well and was easy to take care of. I knew nothing about wig care when I went in, but they told me everything I needed to know and were immensely helpful. If you or someone you care about has lost her hair because of chemo or any other reason, come into the salon and you will be very pleased with the help you receive. My wife has been losing her hair because of chemotherapy. The loss of her hair has been just one more terrible thing for her to bear--she loved her hair. I know all women love their hair, but she had such long, gorgeous locks, and when she'd brush her hair, you could always see the pleasure it brought her. Looking in the mirror at her balding scalp was something that terrified her--it reminded her of everything she's lost and everything she's scared to lose.

We went to this wig shop because we heard they specialized in wigs for chemotherapy patients. They were incredibly kind and understanding of my wife's sadness and helped her to find something which could give her back some of her sense of dignity and wholeness. It might seem like a small thing, but to her it's been very helpful, and anything that gives her optimism and strength at this point is something that's very important. Share Your Review
