Upcoming Seafood Fest and Corn Lovers Festival on Long Island

Wendy L Wednesday, July 25, 2012

If you have a love for the beach and seafood, Wednesday’s are going to be your favorite day!

Every Wednesday evening, through September 7th, the “Seafood Fest at the Beach” will run at Field 1 at the Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park. The fest runs from 6pm-9pm. This year marks the sixth year the fest is running. It’s a casual, fun, and family-friendly event complete with tasteful seafood, live music, entertainment and free giveaways for all.

For $25 (including tax), you can enjoy half a lobster, steamed mussels and clams, corn, peel and eat shrimp and potatoes. Fried clams, popcorn shrimp, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, ice cream, wine and cheese and beer can also be found on an a la cart menu. The food is sponsored by Lessing’s. Reservations are recommended, so call today to book your spot at the Seafood Fest: 631-269-6850. Parking is also free during the fest.

For corn lovers, this weekend is the 8th Annual Sweet Corn Festival at Harbes Farm & Vineyard in Mattituck. On Saturday and Sunday, from 10am – 6pm, there will be live music, hayrides, pony rides, face painting, corn and pie eating contests, food and wine and beer tasting.

General admission to the barnyard adventures is $9.95/person (children age 2 and under are admitted for free). Additional fees apply for pony rides.

What better way to spend this week on Long Island with your friends and family than enjoying a Wednesday evening seafood dinner at the beach and fun at a local farm for the weekend!

Come back each week for new features on entertainment, shopping and dining opportunities on Long Island.
