Supplements Can Enhance Fitness: Muscular Development Store Responds to the Claims

John Mitty Friday, February 1, 2013

Setauket, NY February 01, 2013

On February 1, 2013, Muscular Development Store responds to claims that pre workout supplements can increase muscle mass and heighten fitness results.

A recent article in [The Independent discusses the effectiveness of workout supplements for fitness enthusiasts. The article states that protein, the key building block for muscular development, plays a key role in repairing damaged tissue and speeding muscle recovery, especially after exercising. A lack of protein in the diet can make your best workout efforts fruitless, according to the article.

“The reason athletes and bodybuilders benefit so much from the intake of protein supplements is that intensive physical activity requires higher than usual levels of protein. By increasing your protein intake you are also giving your muscles more time to recover but they also grow faster as a result.”

Supplements, which are typically available in bar or mix form, can help the fitness enthusiast get all the necessary protein for muscular development. In other words, extra protein can help you to maximize your muscle-building potential. For those whose diets are already stable, and who aren’t taking in an excess of calories, the introduction of additional protein into the diet won’t build fat, says the article.

Supplementing with protein is simple, says the article; the trick is knowing when and how to use them to maximize their effectiveness. A prime time for protein supplementation, according to the article, is directly pre-workout; the protein is “quickly digested into amino acids in readiness to be used by the muscles requiring repair following a strength work-out.” This provides an extra boost of energy during the workout, which can help you push yourself further.

“Experts indicate that whey-based protein supplements offer superior results for muscle gain, although those that are lactose intolerant or suffer from bloating may wish to consider alternative methods.” The article warns, however, that supplements are just that: they are inadequate for replacing whole-food sources of protein.

Brian Turner of Muscular Development Store concurs with the article’s claims, noting that the benefits of safe, nutritional supplements have long been recognized by fitness experts. Turner adds that a scientifically-approved protein supplementation strategy is to take them first thing in the morning. “Sleeping amounts to a state of fasting for our bodies,” says Turner. “When you get up in the morning, you have to provide your body with the raw materials for building energy. Fail to do that, and the body starts breaking down its own muscle tissue to get enough energy. This could mean that your muscle-building efforts from the days and weeks prior are wasted.”

A good fitness regimen must be augmented with proper nutrition. At the Muscular Development Store, we offer products to enhance your workout and maximize the fitness benefits of your routine. We negotiate the lowest possible prices from manufacturers, and are proud to offer bestselling, brand-name sports nutrition products well below the suggested retail price.
