East End Arts School Announces

Summer Registration Open: Private Music Lessons

East End Arts School, 141 East Main Street, Riverhead, NY

(RIVERHEAD, NY, June 8, 2012) – The East End Arts School is pleased to announce that summer registration is now open for private music instruction. East End Arts’ best-kept secret, the Music Education program, has been a staple of the East End Arts School since it first opened as the Community School of the Arts in 1995. For 17 years, the School’s experienced faculty members have been sharing the joy of music with beginners, advanced students, and all levels in between. Private music lessons are offered to children and adults for voice, piano, guitar and band and orchestral instruments at all levels. Rates start at $1 per minute. Lessons are available year-round. The seven-week Summer Semester begins Monday, July 9. One-Time Trial Lessons are also available for $35. Scholarship opportunities are available. For more information, visit: http://eastendarts.org/education/art_for_teens.html#PrivateMusic or call 631-369-2171.

Below are a few recent outstanding achievements of music students at the East End Arts School:

  • Sarah Blumenthal, Piano Student of Tatiana Balepina, received the Silver Award for Outstanding Performance at the National Young Musicians Showcase Competition of the National League of Performing Arts.
  • Gage Rubio, Piano Student of George Cork Maul, was the youngest musician ever to perform at the Long Island Composer’s Alliance annual Student’s Concert at the Freeport Library. He memorized and performed his teacher’s composition “The Human Race,” for an enthusiastic audience of 150 people.
  • Kira Buckel, Piano Student of Tatiana Balepina, received a rating of “Superior” (and a monetary award) in the International Piano Composition Contest of the American College of Musicians for her composition “Awaiting Time.”
  • Anthony Nicoletti, Piano Student of Andrea Modugno, received a scholarship to attend Five Towns College.
  • Cole Hempel, Piano Student of Tatiana Balepina, received First Place in the Elementary Division of the Suffolk Piano Teachers Foundation Competition.
  • Justice Winter, Voice Student of Jennifer Roller, has been featured in two independent films, “Missing Pieces” and “Tenured,” as well as several commercial shoots and a ‘secret’ major television opportunity filmed in Hollywood.

In addition to private music instruction, the East End Arts School offers a variety of art, theater, and music classes and workshops throughout the calendar year. The summer class schedule was just announced; for more information, visit: http://eastendarts.org/TEMPfiles2012/SchoolSum2012.pdf. Classes require pre-registration.

East End Arts also hosts very popular arts summer camp programs, rated Best of the Best by Dan’s Papers in 2011. Exploration of art, music, and theatre for ages 5 through 8 at the Renaissance Kids Camp, and more focused programs for ages 9 through 12, including rock camp, digital recording camp, acting camp, and fine arts camps; there is something for everyone at East End Arts during the summer. Pre-registration is required; limited space still available. For more information, visit: http://eastendarts.org/education/summercamp.html.
