Paul E. Savoca, MD, FACS, FASCRS has joined the Colorectal Program at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown.  He joins Director of the Colonand Rectal Program, David E. Rivadeneira, MD, FACS, FASCRS and attending surgeon, Jill C. Genua, MD, FACS, FASCRS, located at 48 Route 25A, Smithtown, NY 11787, Suite 007. He completed his surgical residency at Yale University School of Medicine where he was a Research Fellow in the Gastrointestinal Surgical Research Group and completed his Colorectal Fellowship at the University of Minnesota.   In the 19 years prior to his new home at St. Catherine, he was a member of Fairfax Colon and Rectal Surgery, the District of Columbiaarea’s largest colorectal surgical practice based in Fairfax, Virginia.  While there, Dr. Savoca was considered one of the premiere members of his specialty completing roughly 200 major colorectal operations yearly.
