Senator Lee M. Zedlin Releases Statement on Cuomo's State of State Address

In a year that saw some great accomplishments be ravaged by a powerful storm, many things could be said about the state of the state of New York. This is especially true for the state of Long Island as people continue to rebuild their lives and try to get back to a state of normalcy. However, today NY Senator Lee M. Zedlin (R-Shirley) released a statement upon viewing the 2013 State of the State Message issued by Governor Andrew Cuomo.

In the statement Senator Zedlin said;

“I look forward to tackling the many tough challenges ahead and providing effective representation to the residents and local communities I represent. We need to continue the progress we have made to end the dysfunction in Albany and restore an effective, responsive, and responsible state government.

Clearly we must unburden hardworking New Yorkers from the crushing taxes that affect their family budgets and quality of life. We must make government work better and cost less, and we must develop better strategies that support our small businesses and create jobs on Long Island and throughout the state. The Governor also properly recognized the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, and I will continue to work with him to ensure that our communities receive all
the help they need as quickly as possible."

With the new jobs reports showing that Sandy did some extensive damage to the jobs market it is good to see that creating jobs on Long Island is still a priority.
