Queens Taste 2013 Huge Taste

Queens Taste 2013 brought together a wide variety of top-notch food and drink providers at Citi Field’s Caesars Club. More than 900 attendees and 40 vendors came together to enjoy a fun event together.

The eleventh annual extravaganza was hosted by the Queens Economic Development Corporation and included an appearance by 1969 Miracle Met Ed Kranepool, a stand up routine by Steve Hofstetter of the Laughing Devil Comedy Club in Long Island City, a booth displaying works by local emerging artists, and performances by a Big Apple Circus clown.

A tasting competition was also held. Best Entrée honors were shared by Woodside’s Ottomanelli’s and The Pine Restaurant, which is at the Holiday Inn LaGuardia in Corona. Ottomanelli’s served spicy hamburgers and The Pine served Chicken Scarpariello.

Best Appetizer went to McClure’s Pickles, who offered spicy and garlicky gherkins, and Take a Break and I’ll Bake took Best Dessert with cream cheese pies with berries on top.

QEDC Executive Director said, “We are extremely happy with how everything turned out, and I’m already looking forward to next year. The food, the beverages, the networking and the upbeat, almost giddy, atmosphere really couldn’t be beaten, and it looked like everybody had a great time.
