Long Island Cares Opens New Site Online

Long Island Cares, Inc., one of the best known and longest operating charities on Long Island, had just launched a new, expanded website.  The augmented site opened its doors two days ago on September 3^rd, and includes over 70 pages of information on the charity and its many programs for Long Islanders in need.  On the site, you can read articles about current charitable contributions, view photos of charity recipients, search for programs to help you if you need it, donate, volunteer to help out, or advocate to your legislators.  The site’s simple navigation makes it easy to find what you are looking for.  If you do not know much about hunger on Long Island, you can learn the facts in the “Understand the Issues” section of the site.

Some of the programs run by Long Island Cares include the Harry Chapin Food Bank, Mobile Outreach Services, Baxter’s Pet Pantry, Kids Cafes, and Veterans Project.  Each of these programs is designed to meet the needs of Long Islanders in different situations who are struggling with different problems.  If you would like to visit the new website and find out what you can do in order to help out (or get help for yourself), visit http://www.licares.org/.
