For immediate release:

Greenport Village Readies for TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Race Series May 26- 28, 2012; Additional Corporate Sponsors Announced.

Greenport, New York – April 17, 2012 - The Village of Greenport, New York, host to the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Race Series May 26 through 28, has announced two additional sponsors for the event.  Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. and Bridgehampton National Bank join Peconic Landing and Eastern Long Island Hospital as sponsors for the Memorial Day weekend festival.

This year’s TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE will commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, with celebrations and festivals along the Atlantic Coast, including Greenport, the second port to host the tall ships fleet Memorial Day Weekend. The sail begins in Savannah, Georgia (May 3-7), races up the East Coast to Greenport, continues to Newport, Rhode Island (July 6-9) and Halifax, Nova Scotia (July 19-23).  Greenport expects that over 50,000 people will attend the Tall Ships events.  Tickets are on sale now at http://greenport.showclix.com; festival schedules and information are available at www.greenportvillage.com.

Greenport Harbor Brewing Co., founded in 2009 in Greenport Village, is a small craft brewery, serving over 300 restaurants and bars throughout Long Island and New York City. Their tasting room provides beer enthusiasts with an impressive assortment of ales, including permanent and seasonal varieties. The brewery is a testament to owners’ Rich Vandenburgh and John Liegey’s passion and commitment to quality beer making, and explains why the brewery has been a popular spot among locals and tourists alike.

“It’s very exciting for us to sponsor the GREENPORT TALL SHIPS event,” said Vandenburgh. “We have received much support from the local community and we are happy to be able to welcome new and returning friends on Memorial Day Weekend.”

Bridgehampton National Bank (BNB,) has been an essential part of the East End of Long Island for over one hundred years. BNB is recognized for its commitment to partnering with local businesses, providing banking and financial services that foster success, since the Bank was founded in 1910. With 20 branches throughout Suffolk County, BNB supports initiatives for local business, education, healthcare, social services, the environment, the arts and historic preservation. Their investment in the local community encourages staff volunteerism and involvement in organizations and projects that help to make communities extraordinary places to live and work.

“Bridgehampton National Bank is happy to support this year’s GREENPORT TALL SHIPS event,” said BNB’s President and CEO Kevin O’Connor. “We all live and work locally, we are proud of the people and businesses in our communities, and we are excited to be a part of an event that will allow us to show off the very special qualities of the East End.”

GREENPORT TALL SHIPS seeks additional sponsors for this exciting event, offering a variety of sponsorship packages that include invitations to VIP receptions, on-site signage and exhibition displays, advertising and promotional opportunities and more.
