Exhibition to Explore Greek Jewish Holocaust

The Holocaust devastated the Jewish communities all around the world, but most people do not understand how much of an impact it had. The Jewish communities of Greece really saw many changes during the Holocaust and a special exhibition is in Nassau County that will allow people to see into the lives of these Greek Jews.

A special exhibition is being housed at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County through August 15^th that documents Jewish life in Greece before, during and after the Holocaust. Decades old pictures and artifacts come together to tell the story of the Greek Jews during this very difficult time in history.

The exhibit is provided courtesy of the Foundation for the Advancement of Sephardic Studies and Culture and Kehila Kedosha Janina, Synagogue and Museum.

Monday through Friday, the exhibit will be open from 10Am to 4:30PM, and on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays, the hours are from 12PM to 4PM. Guided tours are available at 12:30PM and 1:30PM.

Admission is by donation and the requested admission donation for adults is $10, for seniors is $5, and students $4. The museum is recommended for ages 10 and older. Younger children may find the pictures and exhibits disturbing.
