John Mitty Tuesday, February 5, 2013

(RIVERHEAD, NY, February 5, 2013) –– The East End Arts School is pleased to announce that they have been selected as a Founding School Candidate and Assessment Center for the prestigious Royal Conservatory Music Development Program. The East End Arts School joins a community of more than 150 diverse schools and institutions from across the country in pursuit of excellence in music education and the creation of a shared cultural experience. Together, participating schools believe in the importance of a consistent, US-based national standard of music education and sequenced assessment. The collective goal is to support quality in teaching practice and celebrate the accomplishments of music students from coast to coast. The two main pillars of study for the Music Development program are Music Theory and Performance. The East End Arts School will serve as an Assessment Center for the entire Eastern Long Island region, and will offer specialized preparatory courses for those seeking to participate in the program.

“Inspire the Desire to Aspire.” There are numerous benefits for student and educator participation in this prestigious program, including a recognized national standard that supports student success; an effectively sequenced course of study with built-in flexibility; outstanding teacher and student resources including a rich variety of repertoire and etudes; professional, detailed adjudications.

The first public information session will be held on the evening of Wednesday, February 13, at the East End Arts School, located at 141 East Main Street in Riverhead, NY. This is open to parents or students looking to learn more about participating, as well as teachers looking to align themselves with this national program.
