To Honor at 40th Anniversary Gala: Saturday, May 5, 2012

(RIVERHEAD, NY, March 16, 2012) –– East End Arts is seeking to contact former board members as the organization celebrates its 40th Anniversary. The local non-to-profit arts organization is holding a Gala in honor of the milestone year, Fantastic at Forty, which will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012, from 6PM to 11PM, at Raphael Vineyard in Peconic, NY. In addition to honoring the founding members of the organization, including commemorating East End Arts’ founder and legendary international sculptor Robert Berks (1922-2011), the celebratory evening will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dancing, live auction of featured paintings and renowned artists’ “tools of the trade”. East End Arts will be honoring all of those who have helped the organization to develop to the community builder and arts resource it is today.

Former board and advisory council members are urged to contact founding board member Joan Rogers at 631-722-8212 or morningsea@verizon.net as soon as possible.

History of East End Arts

Established in 1972 as an outgrowth of the successful Woodrow Wilson Humanities Series, East End Arts began as the East End Arts & Humanities Council, a resource for the local arts community with a commitment of supporting and advocating for the arts community. The organization has developed and grown significantly since its start and now operates an Art Gallery and School of the Arts, and presents a variety of events and programs to promote the arts year-round to inspire our communities through support, advocacy and education. East End Arts operates in three main locations: the East End Arts’ grounds in Riverhead, NY; Brecknock Hall in Greenport, NY; and Rosalie Dimon Gallery at Jamesport Manor Inn in Jamesport, NY. Signature annual events include: Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival (May), Teeny Awards (spring), Harvest Gospel Concerts Series (November) and Winterfest Jazz on the Vine (winter). As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, East End Arts relies on public and private foundation grant funding, as well as individual and corporate contributions to continue presenting arts opportunities to our region.
