Downtown Riverhead Holiday Window Decorating Contest

(RIVERHEAD, NY, October 18, 2012) –– East End Arts is pleased to announce a Holiday Window Decorating Contest in Downtown Riverhead, for the third year in a row, to be held this December. Groups, families, businesses, organizations, individuals – everyone! – are invited to participate in decorating Main Street’s empty storefronts with joy and cheer for the holiday season. Prizes will be awarded to the winning window display, which will be determined by public vote.

An application including sketch of design and $25 fee is required in advance for participation. Window spaces will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. Holiday themes must be suitable for family viewing. Youth groups must be accompanied by an adult. Window design installation will take place Thursday, November 29 through Saturday, December 1, 2012. The public will be invited to vote for their favorite window from Sunday, December 2 through Thursday, December 20. Ballots may be picked up at the East End Arts Gallery, 133 East Main Street, during extended holiday shop hours: Tuesday through Friday, 10AM to 6PM; Saturday, 10AM to 4PM, Sunday, 12PM to 4PM. The winning window display will be announced in late December.
