Changes Hair & Color Studio will Host Cut-A-Thon to Raise Funds for Breast Health Services at St. Catherine of Siena

John Mitty Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Changes Hair and Color Studio of Smithtown will kick-off breast cancer awareness earlier than the national observatory month, traditionally held in October with a Cut-a-thon this April.

On Sunday, April 21st from 9:00 am—6:00 pm at Changes Hair and Color Studio of Smithtown, guests can stop by to get $25 haircuts from professional stylists. ALL of the proceeds will go directly to support Breast Health Services at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.

Hair cuts will be honored on a first come, first serve basis, and includes shampoo and conditioner (no blow-dry). The price is the same for men, women and children. Guests may reserve an appointment for an additional $5 and reserve a particular stylist for an additional $10.

Changes Hair and Color Studio  Owner Peter Valenti has been an avid supporter of the medical center, coordinating fundraising efforts in recent years to help raise community awareness about breast cancer. "Having experienced the loss of a family member to cancer has made me become more involved in raising funds for treating this disease,” stated Mr. Valenti. “What better way to support my community hospital, St Catherine's, which has a women's health center, than by raising money for awareness and research, with a Cut-A-Thon.  Utilizing my profession and staff member, who have volunteered their time and energy, we will hopefully raise a generous amount from our community in this endeavor."
