Mineola, NY - June 22nd, 2015 - Attorney Mary Ann Aiello of Westbury has been elected the 22nd Dean of the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association, it was announced today by NCBA President Steven J. Eisman. Aiello is a Principal of the law firm Mary Ann Aiello, P.C. in Garden City. The firm concentrates in the practice of family law and matrimonial law. Aiello has extensive trial experience including contested custody and equitable distribution issues.
In addition, the following attorneys were elected to Academy leadership positions: Associate Dean Mili Makhijani of Catalano Gallardo & Petropoulos, LLP, Jericho; Assistant Deans Thomas J. Foley and Daniel W. Russo of Foley Griffin, LLP, Garden City; and Jaime D. Ezratty of Ezratty, Ezratty & Levine, Mineola; Secretary Anthony Michael Sabino of Sabino & Sabino, Mineola; Treasurer Mary P. Giordano of Franchina & Giordano, PC, Garden City; and Counsel Christine T. Quigley, Rockville Centre.
The Nassau Academy of Law is an accredited provider of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for attorneys by the New York State CLE Board and is the largest provider of CLE classes on Long Island. Each year, the Academy organizes and presents more than 150 substantive legal seminars in dozens of practice areas to educate attorneys on the newest developments in the law and to provide the practical skills to enable attorneys to most effectively represent their clients. Through its Domus Scholar Circle program, the Academy provides the unique opportunity for NCBA members to take unlimited CLE courses for one low fee of $219.
Mary Ann Aiello earned her law degree at St. John's University School of Law. Active at the Nassau County Bar Association, she has served as an officer on the Nassau Academy of Law for the past 4 years, and is an active member of NCBA's Matrimonial Law Committee. She also serves as President of the New York Family Law American Inns of Court, Trustee for the American Family Law Inns of Court, Second Circuit; and is the Past President of the Nassau County Women's Bar Association, where she also received the Rona Seider Esq. Award. In addition, she has served as a delegate and co-chair of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York Matrimonial Committee, and has chaired the Children's Rights Committee.
She lectures extensively for state and local bar associations and law schools.
