Alex Sipiagin Quintet in Concert: Saturday, August 4

At Full Moon Arts Center, East Moriches

(RIVERHEAD, NY, June 22, 2012) – East End Arts is thrilled to present the Alex Sipiagin Quintet in concert on Saturday, August 4, 2012, in collaboration with Full Moon Arts Center. The intimately-set performance will take place at Full Moon Arts Center in East Moriches, with a special opportunity to meet the artists prior to the concert during a private cocktail party with Alex and the quintet, and a special performance and gift; starting at 6 PM, the VIP entry ticket is $125 per person. General admission starts at 7 PM for $50 per person, and the one-hour performance will begin at 7:30 PM. A question and answer session with the artists will take place after the performance. Tickets must be purchased in advance of the concert. This event is sponsored by Peconic Bay Winery and Hamptons.com. Alex Sipiagin is a world-class jazz trumpeter who has made his mark on the international jazz scene and has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and his native Russia. He performed with the likes of Dave Holland, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Michael Brecker, and the Mingus Groups, and also teaches at the Groningen Prince Claus Conservatory. His newest solo albums were released in the Spring of 2011 on the prestigious Criss Cross label featuring such noted musicians as Chris Potter, Dave Binney, Eric Harland, Craig Taborn and Boris Kozlov. Full Moon Arts Center is an extraordinary artist-in-residence facility housed in a renovated 1860’s barn and stable. Created as a sanctuary for artistic innovation, it is filled with cutting edge art and sculpture, and truly exemplifies the founders wish to support the visual, musical, literary and performing arts in the community. The Full Moon Arts Center is a fully accredited 501(c)3 non-profit organizations.

This concert is part of Full Moon Arts Center’s “Tension / Creative Tension / Balance,” a three-week series of interactive and multimedia events from July 21 through August 12. The series has been organized by the Center’s founder, Ronnie Wiener, in collaboration with sculptor Avital Oz and East End Arts. It includes special opening and closing concerts, performances and exhibitions.
